VICTORY OF LIGHT OVER DARKNESS

Diwali is a Hindu Festival of Lights. It takes place on the dark night of the new moon in autumn and celebrates the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. To celebrate, we light lamps to represent the illumination of knowledge and awakening of our consciousness. The light represents all the good qualities we carry inside of ourselves; it is our soul, the only true reality.

DID YOU KNOW?

Diwali is the day when Rama returned from exile to Ayodhya after being in exile for 14 years and fighting Ravana. The people of the city held up lights to welcome home Sri Rama.

During Diwali we also worship Maha Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity, to ask for her blessings.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This year we will be celebrating Diwali with a special Puja to Maha Lakshmi where we offer her coins in gratitude of the spiritual wealth she bestows upon Her devotees.
